With lots of speculation our friends from Lingfield Park arrived to play the first of two matches with us. Lingfield are the only mixed team we play so everyone was on their best behaviour! Wow! The hottest day of the year so far and we are all set to do battle with our friends from Mitcham. With the first match being a draw we had our work cut out if we wanted to gain the glory this year and with a trophy, which was supplied by Mitcham, there was even more at stake. The gates to Chipstead Golf Club opened to invite us to a great day of golf. This is the last of the matches with them this year. After a welcome coffee and introductions, our hosts lead us to their immaculate course. The temperature was already in the twenties and it was set to get hotter! With rain throughout the weekend it did not look that we would be playing our return match at North Downs, but 24 men arrived one by one and the match was on! At last the sun came out for our match at home against our friends from Chipstead Golf Club.
