We had a very enjoyable game against Woldingham today if you discount the result. We lost 4½ to 1½. Woldingham were very good company though and everyone had an enjoyable time. Special mention to Mike Addley and Gerry Hayman who were without partners but fought valiantly throughout the game. If you don’t already play in matches please consider doing so if you are able. Great to see the lads from Addington Court again this year. Coffee and bacon baguettes demolished, introductions made and it was off to the first tee for some very interesting golf! After meeting in the club house for coffee and introduction we went to our allotted tee’s. Although the sun was out it was cold start to the day. Our awayday at Park Wood started bright but with a testing wind, challenging both golfer and golf ball. After that the weather looked up a bit and by looking at the cards, so did the golf. With lots of speculation our friends from Lingfield Park arrived to play the first of two matches with us. Lingfield are the only mixed team we play so everyone was on their best behaviour!
