The day started with just a hint of rain, but the weather decided it was business as usual. Seventeen Vets and three guests attended the day, all looking for good golf and high scores. As with all courses at the moment, conditions were not perfect, but despite that some high scores were achieved. With well needed rain overnight and the temperature a little more normal, the team met up with our friends at Addington Court for what turned out to be a great day of golf. The rain had not made much difference to the course and the slopes continued to take the ball miles off target but then both teams suffered that fate! We managed 8 people for each team which is good for our annual match vs the Coulsdon Ladies. Once again the day was getting hotter by the minute and a decision was made that each team could retire if they felt it necessary due to the heat. A later start to our return match with the Wombles of Wimbledon Common, or as they prefer to be known “The WAGGS”. AWAY Match vs Chipstead 15th May. A great day hosted by North Downs. The course was in great shape. The weather was kind to us.The North Downs team were very friendly and the meal was massive! We started the day with a full team after using up all of the reserves. Gathering in the hotel for introductions, bacon baguettes and coffee we introduced the teams.
