Match Reports – May to June 2026

AWAY Match vs Chipstead 15th May.

A great day hosted by North Downs. The course was in great shape. The weather was kind to us.The North Downs team were very friendly and the meal was massive!

However the golf was not so good. With one win and one halved match we suffered a loss of 4 1/2 to 1 1/2.

Must get in the swing for our next match.

HOME Match vs Addington Court 18th May

A damp day to start but nothing to stop a great round of golf.

Addington came prepared but this time so were we! As we sat in the club House (hotel to those in the know), the teams returned and things were looking up for the VETS. We had a long wait for the final results which was a 4 and 2 win for the home team. Well done lads! Keep it up.

HOME Match vs Bletchingly 27th May

This was the first match we have played against Bletchingly and the presented a great team to challenge us.

Unfortunately due to an error with the booking, the tee times were 30 minutes later than published. This however meant we had longer in the bar (which unfortunately was not open.)

With a great team spirit we teed off and 4 hours later the teams retuned.

We held our new friends to an honourable draw! Great golf!

HOME Match vs Woldingham 29th May  – Postponed until 22nd October

AWAY Match vs CCLGC 5th June – Postponed. Date to be confirmed.

HOME Match Vs Wednesday Warriors 10th June.

It is lucky we all know each other! With only 22 men in total, most of them were WW It was a bit “mix and match” but we did get 6teams albeit the first team was only 2 men.

It was yet again a great day for golf with temperatures beginning to climb.

Th golf was good and the baguettes and drink at the end even better.

Unfortunately it was another loss of 4&2 for the VETS. Bring on round two!

AWAY Match vs North Downs 22nd June.

The weather was getting much warmer and by the first tee it was already 26 deg!

Our friend at North Downs were their usual friendly bunch and helped us as much as the dare. We returned to the club house for well earned cold drinks and a lovely meal before the results were confirmed

We did not know at the time but this day was to go down in the history books of golf. It was a 6 0 loss to the VETS.  Better luck next time lads.

HOMEMatch vs Mitcham 26th June – Postponed to 7th October.
