This is the last match for 2024 and with a later than usual start arranged with Wimbledon only seven vets made themselves available to play which was embarrassing to say the least.
Our hosts were very accommodating and together we arranged 3 ball play, each team having two Wimbledon players and one VET! What could possibly go wrong?
With rain forecast for early afternoon we approached the first tee at 9.30 hoping to enjoy at least 9 holes in the dry. Then it started to rain and it hardly stopped for the rest of the day!
The teams came in wet but in great spirit. A challenging game, course and weather.
An exceptional lunch followed by desert was laid on by our hosts followed by the results. It was a whitewash for the CCVGC magnificent seven but a great day out with great friends.
Maybe next year we will be able to field a full team.
