The Hector Fudge Trophy is a completion for the four Coulsdon Club to compete against each other every year. This year it took place on 19th April. We had a slightly later Tee than usual as rush hour travelling is a bit of a problem. The annual match with the Ladies was organised and run by the Ladies Section and was played a bit differently this year, but as usual, the fine trophy awaited the outcome of the winning section. This year’s AGM launched the Club’s 75th anniversary year. We learnt that members’ communication via text, WhatsApp, email, phone and ‘HowdidIdo’ was improved with few issues. The finances were in a very good shape such that we could keep last year’s membership fee whilst allocating £1500 to the 75th Anniversary events.The 7 home and 7 away matches played with outside clubs was higher than ever before with great fun and enjoyment and mixed results. The annual Christmas lunch – 11th December 2023 Once again the Christmas dinner was well organised and attracted some 35 plus members all hosted by Bruce. Another day another match. The weather does not look good but we are ready to play our final match with Woldingham this year. As expected it rained and looked like it would be set for the day. The weather has turned and we have a beautiful day to play our return match with Addington Court. A full team was present and we set off into the sun looking for a win or at least a draw. Unfortunately not to be and we lost 4 and 2. The company outshone the loss and our friends at Addington were the perfect hosts. Better luck next year!
