The annual match with the Ladies was organised and run by the Ladies Section and was played a bit differently this year, but as usual, the fine trophy awaited the outcome of the winning section. Five matches were played with some dubious looking ladies on the ladies team, testing was not on hand so the competition went ahead. Thankfully, a strict dress code by the Ladies Captain was not enforced, despite the Vets Captain asking if he should wear something different.
The day stayed dry, just, and as usual, a great day was had by all, with some well played golf by one or two of the teams. The day was rounded off by a good humoured lunch with suitable words of encouragement by both Captains. The Ladies won the day 3 to 1 and 1 half, well done to the Ladies, both for winning and for organising the day. We look forward to meeting the Ladies again in September for the joint Texas Scramble.
