It was a cold start to the day. The team slowly arrived in the car park where Bruce insisted on a group hugs! Whatever does it for you I thought! Our hosts plied us with bacon rolls and coffee before the two tee start to what turned out to be a great day.
They had a strong team and so we did our best to hold them back. The teams arrived back at the club house and by lunch time we had the results. The matches were close but it was an overall victory to Shirley Park.
As we sat in the sun looking out over the 18th fairway I thought the lads had done well. I also thought about the return match on 29th September where we will have the chance to balance the scales.
