Our awayday at Park Wood started bright but with a testing wind, challenging both golfer and golf ball. After that the weather looked up a bit and by looking at the cards, so did the golf. We were joined by for the day by two groups from the Artisans who are always welcome and now traditionally play this one with us. Six groups got out, playing mostly four ball, scoring individual stableford points at 100% handicap.
Park Wood has some interesting challenges, but nothing the Vets can’t handle. However, despite some respectable scores from the Vets, the Artisans had the day winning back nine, runner up and overall prizes. Simon manged to get the front nine with 34 points avoiding a Vets whitewash, well done Simon.
Feedback told me a good day’s golf was enjoyed by all and looking forward to next year, when I’m sure the Vets will get revenge and prevail.
