How to Verify your email address with Google.

CCVGC use Google form to help administrate the working of the society. It is done to protect both parties and ensures that we can operate a simple GDPR policy and reduce the risk of phishing attacks.

Requisite 

To be able to complete this procedure you will need access to the following for verification purposes

  • Mobile phone number
  • Email

In this example an email address of exampleUser@ccvgc.uk has been used along with the Application form. Screen options will be highlighted in bold. Please read fully before starting, process should take around 10 minutes to complete.

Process

Step 1

If you have accessed the form and you don’t have a Google account or are not sign into your Google account on your browser, you will see the following message on your screen.

Select the SIGN IN option

Step 2

Place your email address in the box. In this demo, a fictional email address  exampleuser@ccvgc.uk is going to be used. The exampleUser@ccgv.uk at this point has not been verified as a google account. Select Next

Note: If you have a Google account you could enter it here and continue.

Step 3

As exampleUser@ccvgc.uk has not verified the following message will be displayed.

Step 4

Select Create account and chose For My personal use

Step 5

In the next screen enter your name details.

First name : Example
Surname: User

Note: I have also changed the language option at the bottom of the screen from English (American) to English(United Kingdom)

Step 6

Complete the Date of Birth and gender. In our demo ExampleUser has a birth of 01/01/2000

Day: 01
Month: January
Year: 2000

Here is the important part Google will offer you suggestions for your name as a google email address, you may wish to take this and use it, if you do then do make sure you remember it. Otherwise you can select the option to Use your existing email.

Step 8

At this point Google needs to validate your email account and will send a verification code to your email address you have used. In our case it would be exampleUser@ccvgc.uk .

You will need to grab that code from your email account and enter it in the form and select Next

Step 9

At which point you need to define your password. As with any password you create on line keep it safe.

Select Next

Note: strong password are harder to guess. Here are some tips.

  • Start by making your password long — aim for at least 12 characters.
  • passphrase are easier remember.
  • mix uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Or use a password Generator

Step 10

This is where you need to provide a mobile number to validate the email address and confirm its you.

Your near the finish line.

At this point select Express and Next

Note: suggest that you do review your Google account setting. At a later date.

Step 14

The next three screens select “Accept All“, “Confirm” and “I Agree“
